Mel Balcomb

Mel graduated from TAFE in 2011 with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Her career began as a veterinary nurse in a busy general practice where she developed her problem-solving skills and exemplary work ethic. Her drive, ambition and eye for detail as well as empathy and compassion for her patients made her an excellent Nurse Coordinator of the referral specialist surgery department at The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University in her next nursing role where she worked for the next five years. She has also completed an online course in Animal Physiotherapy and her Fear Free certification.

We are delighted that Mel has joined the Animal Dermatology Clinic Perth group; she is a significant asset to our nursing team and brings her excellent nursing and communication skills and client service capacity to this role. Her experience in animal handling in a fear-free context, as well as her caring and compassionate attitude to animals and owners make her a very important member of our team
